Smoothies


Use an 8 cup capacity heavy duty blender

3 cups water
3 handfuls spinach
2 cups frozen Festival Blend
( mix of pineapple and mango, available at Costco)
1 cup frozen Three Berry Mix
( mix of raspberries, blueberries & blackberries, available at Costco)
1 ½ banana, peeled
1 apple, cored

Mix in blender until smooth.

Apple Crisp

3 lbs fresh apples, peeled and sliced thin (use a variety of types of apples, gala, red delicious etc.)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 Yellow cake mix (dry mix)
3 packets Instant maple and brown sugar oatmeal
1 pinch of salt

Combined butter and cake mix, set aside, combine brown sugar and oatmeal and salt, layer glass baking dish (sprayed with pam) with prepared apples, cover with oatmeal mixture and top with cake mixture (crumble on top of mix)... you can also add carmel syrup (the ice cream topping kind) if desired. Bake for 50-70 minutes until apples are tender and golden. serve warm with Vanilla Ice cream!

Hot Apple Cider Syrup

Ingredients
3/4 Cup Apple Cider (or apple juice)
1/8 tsp Ground Cinnamon
1/2 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/8 tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/2 Cup Corn Syrup
2 T Butter
1/2 tsp Lemon Juice
Directions
In a saucepan, combine syrup ingredients. Bring to a bowl-over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat, simmer uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until slightly thickened.
Let stand 30 minutes before serving.
** This syrup is perfect with the Pumpkin Pancake recipe!

Wendy's Carmel Apple Pie Filling

Ingredients
1 can ready made apple pie filling
1/2-3/4 cup Dark Brown Sugar
3 Fresh apples, peeled, cored, sliced
1/4 cup Melted butter
2/3 cup flour
1 Pie Shell
Carmel Ice Cream topping

Directions
Mix fresh cut apples to pie filling, add to unbaked pie crust, top with sugar/flour/butter mixture and then bake according to pie filling directions.
Combine melted butter, flour and Sugar into a Thick paste type mixture, add additional sugar/flour until thick.
Spoon mixture by small scoops onto the pie filling spread gently in clumps do not cover the entire pie. Squeeze the caramel over the top of the pie as desired. (Add more caramel when serving pie hot).

Apple Bread

Ingredients
3 Cups Flour
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
2 tsp Cinnamon
2 Cups Sugar
1 tsp Baking Soda
2 Eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Vanilla
1/2 tsp Salt
2 Cups Coarsely chopped apples, peeled and cored

Directions
Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and salt, set aside. In a large mixing bowl place oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla and apples. Stir into flour mixture.
Pour into 2 greased 8 in loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until bread tests done. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan and then cool on a wire rack.
Store in the refrigerator for best results.
